This past weekend I had the privilege of taking a two day class with Suze Weinberg. WOW! it was packed with Bees Wax and UTEE. The store was Scrappy Chic in Livonia, MI. This is a wonderful store with anything you could possibly need with competitive pricing. You must take time to visit if you are in the neighborhood. We made bees wax picture frames on Friday, then on Saturday we did UTEE all day. So much to learn. We could of been there all week and still not get it all. The class was super and I would recommend it.
WELCOME TO MY "GET AWAY" PLACE
Sometimes we need to have someplace to go to help our minds relax from all the stress we encounter. Believe me, I am no different, because there is "always something" going on. I love to go into my own little world to read and explore all the things people are doing with their talents in the art fields. I have learned so much in a short time by watching videos and reading blogs of very generous people who freely give of their time to share their art with others. Thank you to all of you. You have inspired me, and I hope as I continue to post on this blog, I may someday inspire you.

fabric friend book
I am trying to post a "friend book" I made. I used a couple of 3.5" diskettes, you know the ones we all have sitting around. And you know me...I don't throw ANYTHING away! I covered these disks with fabric and then punched a hole in the corner with the Big Bite (Croc-o-dile) punch. Inside the pages have various quotes devoted to friendship. The rest of the pages are blank that can be used for pictures or whatever........The last page has a little envelope to put something in. This was great fun. If I could figure out how to put a slide show on this blog I would....but me, not being computer savvy, will have to figure that out later. Right now my blog will not even let me post a picture. OH..... I need to figure this out! It is driving me crazy

Started doing some new things
I finally finished some new projects. A good friend of mine was taking a trip to England and I made her a little journal for her to record her experiences. It was the first time I made a fabric covered journal
I also altered a picture of an old post office/store that just recently went out of business because of the economy. So sad. It was a very quaint place. This was done in a distressed look. Hope to keep my inspiration on a roll. I will post again tomorrow. As a side note I do want to thank the kind words about my dog Tasha. She was really special.

I will remember Tasha 1996-2009
Yesterday was a really bad day. One of my best friends died. My precious pet, Tasha. She was a wonderful, one of a kind dog. Never any trouble and she will be missed terribly. My heart is hurting |

Already the Middle of June
Can't believe summer is finally here. It was a long winter. My son and daughter-in-law will be with us for awhile as they are building there first home. I just came home from the dentist needing to redo a crown but also had a wisdom tooth pulled. Wow, can't say I felt any wiser. My husband had his job terminated. (Worked for a supplier for the car comanpies) OUCH! And my creative juice has dried up!. HELP i need inspiration!

So I will show a few things I have been doing for the last
couple of months. A couple of vintage purses (which still needs
handles). Some tags, distressed and some waxed. And some
ATC's. The wax on the tags is applied very thin as they will crack
if applied too thick. I hope everyone will be patient with me as
I am very new to this blogging thing and am still learning how to
post and add pictures. Please enjoy and if you have comments please
feel free to get in touch with me.
