These were the first things I ever posted, but I am hooked on bees wax!The mat was already a burgundy color. I just bees waxed a coating a few times fusing in between each. I then made four divisions (uneven) with the edge of the stylus. The top left corner has some color added (green wax) then I added an embellishment from Tim Holtz Grungeboard ideaology collection. That gave it the look I was looking for. On top of the swirl I kept adding beeswax so that it was encased. The other corner is beeswax drops with Pearl-Ex. The other two corners are impressions from a metal screen I had found. (This suggestion was actually my husbands!) The frame was an older wooden frame I had. On this I used brown and red crayons melted with the stylus. A brass stencil was used to indent for texture and I used the beeswax drops with Pearl- Ex also.
